Timing is (sometimes) everything with leads, chances are if a user has entered their details on your onsite lead form, it’s not the only form they have completed that day and your competitors may be acting quicker than yourself. However, it is also worth noting that users are not always in a rush to make an immediate decision on their supplier and are usually quite happy to wait for a length of time before being satisfied they have all the information they need. The worst thing you can do with your lead, even if it is not suitable for your company – is nothing. To paraphrase the old saying, every lead has a value to someone!

Of course there are many, many different types of sales leads – and our system caters for them all. B2B leads (business to business leads) have a longer incubation time of course, which enters the forum of purchasing for medium of long term lead nurturing which we will discuss in a future post. Consumer leads such as IT sales leads, and Mortgage leads have a certain shelf life.  It is up to you to determine what this shelf life is, however purchasing “lead lists” or purchasing leads that are by their nature likely to either have been saturated by reselling or simply too old and past their sell by date.

With our leads platform, you can set the amount of time that you want the lead to appear on the website for offers to come in for and of course you can also determine how old a lead is that you are looking to purchase by checking the Lead Date.

If you are a buyer, you can enter into a conversation with the seller of the leads about how often this lead has been contacted and also whether they have been qualified and by whom. All businesses are different, and have different needs but our leads platform is hopefully the first step to enable you to  sell and buy qualify leads which have been delivered in a timeframe suited to your business requirements and certainly better than purchasing lead lists which have passed their suitability date.
